In January of 2018, Lennard Zinn transitioned to riding titanium ebikes because of his heart arrhythmias. These heart irregularities were preventing him from going on long road and mountain bike rides that he loves so much, and he couldn’t wait to find an answer that would let him ride again! The solution was an assisted bike that got him back on the road and back to riding with his friends. With his custom ebike, Lennard’s been able to commute around Boulder and ride through the Colorado Rockies without worrying about his heart too much!
eBikes are the basis of a new revolution! These types of road bikes are going to get more people riding than ever before. Anyone who isn’t able to hop on a bike due to age or health reasons won’t be held back any more. Because an ebike is merely an assisted bike, you can still get all the benefits of exercise and weight loss without risking injury or overexertion. Your Ideas & Requests
Every custom ebike we make is totally personalized, so we welcome your unique ideas and requests. Our team wants to build your dream titanium or chromoly ebike. During the past few years, we’ve custom-built numerous ebikes for some of our long-time customers and newer shoppers. From electric mountain bikes, gravel bikes, and road bikes to touring bikes, travel bikes, ebikes with Rohloff hubs, and even 32” wheel bikes, we’ve done it all!
Some eBike Specifications
We design and build our eBikes to ride and perform like one of our custom analog bikes. You will hardly be able to tell it’s an ebike until you feel the power of the Bosch Motor. All custom eZinn titanium ebikes are built with the Bosch Generation 4 motor, which reduces weight over the older Generation 2 motors by about 3 lbs. The new motor also has increased torque (85 nm), and increased Max Power (790W).
We also developed a system to allow for dual batteries inside the frame on some of our taller bikes. As a result, Zinn ebikes are quite lightweight when compared to most production ebikes with equivalent power and torque. We built a 29+ eMTB for a 6’8″ 275lb rider that weighed in at 44lbs, and our Titanium Gravel ebikes are always under 40lbs, and even as light as 34lbs, depending on size and component options. While there are other extremely lightweight ebikes out there, none of them have the full power and range you get with a custom eZinn electric bike with bosch ebike system.

We’ve always preferred to work with titanium for ebikes because it’s much lighter than steel! Since we create so many custom bikes for taller riders, weight is one of the most important considerations for the ebike frame. We customize the tubing dimensions for each rider to get the best balance of durability, strength, stiffness, weight, and ride quality. You get the larger tubing you need without the extra weight, as well as more stiffness and strength for better power transfer. You can still enjoy the compliance you want for a comfortable ride that doesn’t beat you up over a long day on the road.
When you choose titanium for your ebike frame, your bike will never corrode, and we can paint it in any color 一 unlike aluminum or steel bike frames. Internal cable routing is also our preferred construction because the cables will be completely protected from rust and corrosion due to the titanium casing. Titanium ebikes have tons of other benefits too, including strength and fatigue resistance, 3x the flexing power of aluminum, and better road buzz absorption than any other frame material. |

While we always prefer titanium, steel frames do have their benefits! A lower cost option, chromoly steel is stronger and denser than aluminum or titanium with an incredibly high tensile strength. You’ll have unprecedented fatigue life under high loads with this ebike frame material! Create a custom ebike with Cromoly, and you’ll enjoy the same versatility and performance no matter how big your frame needs to be.
We try to mitigate the weight of this steel frame by using a TIG welding method. With a single strengthening gusset under the down tube, you get the same longevity without the massive increase in weight. We guarantee that this type of frame will last way longer than any kind of aluminum! |

You can easily install and remove the light lithium-ion battery, charging it in and out of the bike. You can also expect a very long life from the battery for hours of riding energy 一 even at half charge! We include the PowerPack 400 with any custom ebike frame purchase, or you can opt for a rack battery for other product lines.

When it comes to our design philosophy, there’s a lot to cover. It all starts with Lennard Zinn, the man who’s been designing and building bikes since 1982. He has experience with big and tall cyclists, petite riders, cyclists with injuries, and every other unique rider requirement. He’s one of the few bike designers in the world who has dedicated his life to improving ride performance for every type of rider!
Lennard has also worked with Dr. Andy Pruitt for many years to help riders who have knee and back problems, neck pain, reduced mobility, and so much more! We’re not just here to scale custom ebike frames up or down to fit your height. Our team ensures every part of the bike is proportional to itself and to your body specifically. We minimize the shimmy from stretched tubes, lighten the bike with a titanium ebike frame, ensure the handlebars are the perfect height for your reach, and guarantee proportional crank length for comfortable riding. No matter your issue or area of concern, Lennard has thought about it and developed a solution!

Are you excited about adding an ebike to your collection? Submit your measurements online or come in for a fitting to start the process. After you submit all your details, you will need to pay a deposit before we start work on our end. Once we have your measurements and deposit, we’ll contact you for any additional data we need before creating a CAD drawing for your bike. Then, we’ll send it to you for review before manufacturing. Soon, your bike will be right at your front door!
