When people contact us after having searched for ages trying to find a bike that fits, we love telling them that we can make it happen for them. We want everyone to be able to get the bike they want with a great fit, so when this type of challenge comes our way, we jump at the opportunity.
This custom titanium step through ebike was built for a 5’2″ woman who flew out from California to be fitted. Apart from just wanting an ebike that fits, she also needed to be able to lift the bike up to load it into a vehicle, which is very difficult with the typical 60lb step through ebikes that are popular everywhere. We built her an ebike that weighed almost half of that at 35lbs. It also has a battery that can be removed quickly from the frame which reduces the weight another 7 lbs making it very reasonable to lift onto a rack.
The other requirement was sufficient step through clearance for getting on and off the bike easily, but also with straight lines on the bike. She did not want any curved tubes, so we came up with the design similar to some classic mixtie frames from the 70s and 80s but with a modern aesthetic.
The last step was designing some cool graphics for the frame. We used a jelly bean pattern we designed to give the logos a cool multi-color effect.
