The Trade-in Program

Overview:

We want to get you on your dream bike! To help with the cost, we have a partner who will accept mid- to higher- end bicycles of all types for resale. In return, our partner will provide Zinn Cycles with cash toward the payment on your new bike from Zinn Cycles.

Types of trade-in bikes:

There are many bike brands out there, and we don’t discriminate. It can be a road, mountain, gravel, cyclocross, triathlon, TT, or e-bike of any size. If the bike you want to trade-in had a retail cost of less than $1,000 when you bought it, or was purchased prior to 2000, it likely will not be accepted. Some exceptions may apply, so go ahead and submit a trade-in application below!

Timing:

You will apply the credit you receive from the trade-in bike to the second or final payment of your new bike from Zinn Cycles. This allows accommodation of time for you to properly pack the bike and for us to receive it without stalling the process of getting your dream bike built and/or assembled. This means you’ll still place the initial deposit on your new bike and then apply the trade-in value to future payment(s).

How to properly pack your bike for shipping:

Colorado locals may instead bring the bike to Zinn Cycles. You may choose to have your local bike shop professionally pack the bike so that it does not incur damage on shipping. Any damage in shipping will be deducted from the trade-in value.

Here is a video we found helpful. You may find others on You Tube as well.

Shipbikes.com sells bike boxes. You can also find them at UPS Stores or FedEx offices. Your local bike shop may have some, too!

We recommend that you take some photos of the bike packed into its box, prior to sealing the box, in case of any damage incurred while shipping. This is what shipping carriers will ask for when claiming damage, and it’s the best way to show that the bike was properly packed.

More details:

Trade-in offers are only applicable to new bicycles from Zinn Cycles, including custom Zinn, Clydesdale, Tui, or KHS bikes purchased from us. This offer does not include any form of cash back for the trade-in bicycle value. If the trade-in value exceeds that of the new bicycle price, the additional value will be used as store credit for future purchases from Zinn Cycles.
