We just finished up this really cool E-bike for a musician in San Fransisco. It’s a titanium custom ebike build for a 6’6″ rider. This was one of the few occasions where the rider’s wife convinced him to upgrade from what he was originally looking for. He came to visit us at our shop in Louisville, Colorado and test road several bikes. He was originally looking for a non electric commuter/city bike to ride around San Fransisco. He got a chance to ride an e-bike we had built up and really enjoyed it. He came back from his test ride with a huge grin on his face.
Part of what makes a Zinn Custom Ebike great is the Bosch Generation 4 Performance Line motor. We use the Speed motor on most bikes, and then we use the CX motor on mountain bikes or upon request. The Bosch Gen 4 system is one of the few ebike drive units that features no resistance when the motor is off, which means your bike will ride like a regular bike when you set the assist to off. Many of our ebike customers are reporting that they are riding a lot with the motor off and then turning it on when they need it. This makes for a very versatile bike.
One of the amazing features of a titanium frame is that it can never corrode, therefore it does not need to be painted. All of our custom titanium frames are now coming standard with anodized graphics. We are constantly coming out with new styles and designs for your custom logos on the frame, and we can even anodize your name on the bike frame!
This bike also features a headlight and tail light that are wired into the motor so you never have to worry about charging the lights and they are controlled using the Bosch Kiox display. We created some custom routing for the tail light so that the wired is hidden all the way through the seat tube and into the seatpost itself, and comes out right at the top of the post and connects to the light. The Kiox display is also easy to remove from the head unit for security purposes. Once removed, the motor and battery are disabled.
