The Serrai is our custom gravel bike or cyclocross bike that’s designed and handmade specifically for each rider. Every custom Zinn frame is made one at a time by our veteran framebuilders with the highest level of quality you can find. Our precision welds and beautiful finishes are a testament to our dedication to quality. The Serrai can be built for hydraulic or cable disc brakes, with tire clearance for higher-volume gravel tires, and the Zinn Duro Carbon Fork. Because titanium is so much lighter than steel, we build custom gravel bikes for taller riders that have large-diameter tubing and are still extremely lightweight. With custom tube sizes, our bikes offer the ideal balance of durability, strength, stiffness, and lightness. This material also has enough fatigue resistance and strength to exclude the use of oversized tubes. You’ll get a compliant ride on the roughest surfaces and avoid small bumps and road buzz. The Serrai is the only bike that’s fit for gravel! Another benefit of titanium is that it never rusts or corrodes! We can paint, plate, or powder coat your bike as well — not an option with all types of metals. Enjoy a bike that never fatigues and can flex more than three times further than aluminum without suffering permanent damage. |

Many riders prefer steel for their custom gravel bike because it’s stronger and denser than other materials. We use steel tubing with a very high tensile strength to ensure unprecedented fatigue life even under higher loads. While these frames might be a bit heavier than carbon fiber or titanium, they offer you greater longevity and responsiveness. |
Design
Zinn Cycles Design Philosophy
Lennard Zinn has been designing and building custom gravel bikes for big and tall cyclists, petite women, cyclists with injuries, and everyone else since 1982. He is one of the few bike designers in the world that has dedicated his career to improving the performance and durability of big and tall bikes and bikes for women. He has also spent a great deal of time working with Dr. Andy Pruitt to design and fit gravel bikes for cyclists who have suffered from injuries, reduced mobility, knee problems, back problems, neck problems, and many other ailments.
Proportional crank length is at the heart of all of our custom bike designs. We offer cranks from 130mm all the way up to 220mm, so we can properly fit any person in the world, no matter their size. Lennard has developed great frame design concepts to address and solve all of these issues and more. A bike designed by Lennard Zinn will be stiff and strong while remaining lightweight. It will not shimmy at high speeds, and all of the components will be proportional to the rider.

We recommend adding S&S couplings to your frame to create a travel bike that breaks down into smaller parts. We offer two or four coupler sets, depending on the bike’s frame size.

No matter where in the world you may live, we will work with you to ensure the fit of your Zinn gravel bike is absolutely perfect. We offer a full-service in-house bike fitting for those who can make it to Boulder, Colorado and we also have detailed measurement instructions for those who cannot make it out for an in-house fitting. We are also happy to work directly with a bike fitter in your area, and we offer upgraded 3D bike fittings with Dr. Andy Pruitt at the Boulder RETUL Center.
