Fedaia Custom Disc Brake Road Bike
Our Fedaia road bike is a one-of-a-kind disc brake road bike. It is similar to our Dolomite bike but features upgraded disc brakes to provide superior control and enhanced braking power for taller or heavier riders. Custom disc brakes are not mandatory, but most cycling enthusiasts appreciate the increase in stopping power they get with a well-made disc brake system. Electronic shifting groups, wireless, and standard mechanical shifting systems, are available. Hydraulic disc brakes or mechanical disc brakes can be added to the Fedaia, depending on your needs and specifications. To increase the stiffness and responsiveness of the Fedaia, we use through-axle hubs and a tapered fork.

We often construct Zinn Custom Bikes with titanium. The light weight of titanium means we can build bikes for big and tall riders with larger diameter tubing while still having a lighter frame than if we used steel. We also provide lightweight and compliant bikes for smaller people under 5 feet tall. For the best balance of strength, stiffness, durability, ride quality, and weight ratio, we determine the exact tube dimensions for each customer.
Titanium is a strong, light metal that is resistant to corrosion. It has a high strength-to-weight ratio and is fatigue resistant, making it an ideal material for bicycle frames. Titanium frames are compliant, absorb road buzz and small bumps, and provide a smooth ride. They can be left unpainted, painted, or powder coated and are scratch resistant. Titanium frames are more expensive than steel or aluminum frames, but their durability makes them a good investment.
Internal cable routing is a great way to keep your bike looking clean and streamlined. But it’s not just about looks – internal cable routing also offers several performance benefits. Because the insides of titanium tubes are naturally impervious to rust and corrosion, you don’t have to worry about your cables getting damaged by water or dirt. In addition, titanium flexes three times further than aluminum and twice as far as steel without permanent damage, so you don’t have to worry about damaging your frame if you happen to crash.

Cromoly Steel has long been the standard material for bicycle frames, thanks to its durability and strength. Compared to lighter materials such as aluminum or titanium, steel is much denser and can withstand more stress without breaking. Cromoly steel frames are generally heavier than titanium. When building custom bikes for big and tall people, we consider several factors that are key to creating a comfortable and enjoyable ride. Simply scaling up a standard frame is not the solution and will lead to many problems. As a result, it is essential to design custom frames for big and tall riders that account for height, weight, and physical proportions. At high speeds, the stretched-out tubes become less stiff, and severe frame shimmy may occur. Shimmying is a dangerous phenomenon caused by poorly designed bikes. Second, the heavier the frame is, the less efficient it will be. The added materials cause these bikes to become more stressful on riders’ joints and cause injury. Third, if you have a big or tall cyclist, you need to have a proportionally-sized fork that is long enough to ensure comfort. Fourth, average-length cranks will never get the job done right and may give the rider an unnatural feel when riding.

Make it a Travel Bike
Add S&S Couplers for easy travel
Titanium and steel frames can be built with S&S couplings, allowing for easy disassembly for travel. Adding Zinn couplers does not reduce bike frame strength and can result in a physically superior structure. Depending on frame size, we can add two to four couplers. Bigger bikes need four couplers, while smaller bikes can get away with just two. The result is a portable travel bike that breaks down into sections and fits into an airline regulation travel case. S&S Couplings are so strong they are the most reliable points on the frame, making them an ideal choice for a travel bike.
Remember, when transporting your bike, not all bicycles are created equal. Bikes like 29ers, touring bikes with racks and fenders, and e-bikes may or may not require a secondary bag or case to carry some bike parts. That’s where couplers come in.
